Thangam Driving School

Thangam Driving School is based in the Jabahar Ali Building over in Thuvarankadu. If you know the Thadikarankonam area in Kanyakumari, you probably know where we are. We spend most of our time out on the roads rather than sitting in the office. Teaching people how to drive is a lot of work and requires a good amount of patience. We have different people coming in, some who are very nervous and others who think they know everything already. We take the cars out around the local streets of Thuvarankadu to get everyone comfortable with the gears and the steering. The Jabahar Ali Building is where we handle the paperwork and the initial talks. Kanyakumari roads can be a bit tricky, so we spend a lot of time explaining the local traffic rules. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s something people around here really need. We’ve seen many residents pass their tests after practicing with us. Our cars are out in the sun most of the day, and we keep them running as best as we can. It’s just us, a few instructors, and a steady stream of learners trying not to stall the engine. We don’t make a big deal out of it; we just help people get their licenses so they can get on with their lives. Life in Thadikarankonam is quiet, and we like it that way while we do our daily rounds.
