About Khan Steels – Metals & Minerals in Kanyakumari
We’ve been here at 157/1 on Cape Road for a while now. It's a busy spot in Kottar, right near the Sri Sastha Temple. You can usually hear the temple bells while we’re moving inventory around. Most days are pretty much the same for us at Khan Steels. We get the trucks in early, unload the steel, and try to keep everything organized. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, especially with all the metal around, but we just get on with it. People come in looking for specific sizes, and we do what we can to help them out. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting and shifting things. Our place isn't anything fancy, just a workspace where we get things done. We know most of the people around here since we’ve been in this part of town for years. Sometimes the traffic on Cape Road makes things a bit slow when we’re waiting for a delivery. We just sit out front, have some tea, and wait for the road to clear up. My hands are usually covered in some kind of dust or grease by noon. That’s just how it is working with steel. We don’t have a big office or anything, just a desk and some chairs where we handle the paperwork. It’s a simple setup. We try to keep things honest and straightforward. If we have what someone needs, we tell them. That’s our day-to-day life here.
