Chennai Engineering Consultants is based in Nagercoil, right at No 7 in the Hindu College Complex. We are directly opposite Hindu College, so there are always students and faculty members walking past our door on Hindu College Road. Despite the name, we are firmly rooted here in Nagercoil and have been for a long time. Our work is mostly focused on the technical side of building—things like structural designs and making sure everything is up to code. It’s not always the most exciting work, but it’s necessary to make sure buildings stay standing. Our office is usually filled with stacks of blueprints and folders of government regulations. It’s a small, practical space without any of the fancy decor you might see in a big city firm. We get a lot of locals coming in asking for help with their house plans or seeking advice on a renovation they are planning. We try to give them straight answers without any fluff. Sometimes the traffic on the road outside is quite a distraction, but we just keep our heads down and focus on the math. It’s a small team here, and we all know our roles pretty well. We don't pretend to be anything we aren't. We are just local engineers helping out with the construction projects happening around town. We’ve been at this address for years and plan to stay for many more.
