Site Enginieer

Living and working in Kanyakumari district has its own rhythm, especially here in the Kanchiracode area. My place is in Thodukulam North, house number 19/60. I've been working as a site engineer for a good while now, mostly handling local projects that need someone on the ground every day. It is not like those big corporate jobs you see in the city. Here, it is more about being there when the materials arrive and making sure the workers know what they are doing for the day. Sometimes the rain here makes things difficult, and we have to pause everything, but we get back to it as soon as the sun comes out. I spend a lot of my time walking around the sites, checking the levels, and talking to the masonry guys. It is a quiet life in this part of Tamil Nadu, but the work keeps me busy from morning till evening. I don’t have a big team or a fleet of trucks. It is just me and the tools I need to do the job right. People in the village know where to find me if they have a small project or a house they are trying to put up. It’s just about doing the daily grind and making sure the foundations are solid before we move to the next step. There is no magic to it, just showing up and paying attention.
