World Wide

World Wide is located at Shop Number 9 in the Madina Masjid Market area of Kanpur. It’s a small shop in a very crowded part of the city, so there is never really a quiet moment. We deal with a variety of things here, and the name World Wide might sound big, but we are just a local operation in a busy market. Every morning we open up the shutters and start the day as the rest of the market wakes up around us. The Madina Masjid area is known for being packed with shoppers and vendors, so there’s always a lot of shouting and horns honking outside our door. Our space at S No-9 is tight, filled with whatever we’re working on or selling at the moment. We don't have any fancy mission statements or corporate goals; we just want to get through the day’s work and help the people who walk in. Some days it's just about answering questions and other days we are moving stock around until our backs ache. The heat in Kanpur can be really something in May and June, and the shop gets pretty warm, but that’s just how it is. We’ve been part of this market community for some time and we know most of the other shopkeepers nearby. It’s a simple life, focused on the shop and the people of Kanpur who come through the Madina Masjid Market every day.
