We’ve been over here at 13/388 in Civil Lines for a good while. This building isn't much to look at from the outside, but it's where everything happens. We make clothes. It's mostly sewing machines humming all day and stacks of fabric everywhere you look. It's a bit loud sometimes with all the workers, but that’s just how it is when you’re trying to get orders out. We don’t have a big fancy office. Most of us are just on the floor checking things or sitting at desks piled with patterns and scrap paper. Civil Lines is a busy area, so getting deliveries in can be a bit of a headache with the traffic around here. We deal with it. We’ve got a small team, and everyone knows what they need to do. Some days are longer than others, especially when a big shipment is due. We use a lot of thread and buttons. It’s practical work. We aren't trying to be some high-fashion brand you see in magazines, just making stuff that people can actually wear every day. The tea guy comes around twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a quick break to talk. It’s just a regular business making clothes in a regular part of town. We keep the machines oiled and the floors swept as best as we can. It's nothing fancy, just hard work and fabric piled up to the ceiling.
