If you walk down the lanes of Kakadeo, specifically around 117/N/151 in Tulsi Nagar, you’ll find our training center. Kanpur is a busy place, and this area is especially crowded with students all the time. We focused ourselves on early teacher training because we saw there was a need for it. It isn't a massive campus with glass buildings or anything. It’s more of a practical space where people come to learn how to actually manage a classroom of small children. We have desks, some charts on the walls, and plenty of notebooks lying around. Most of our students are young women from around Uttar Pradesh who want to start a career in education. We spend our afternoons going over lesson plans and talking about how to handle different situations in a school setting. It’s not always quiet here; there’s usually a lot of discussion going on. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just open the windows and keep going. We don’t really do big advertising campaigns. Most of our students come because a sister or a friend told them about us. We just try to make sure everyone who finishes the course actually knows what they are doing when they stand in front of a class. It's a humble place, and we like it that way. We spend a lot of time drinking tea and figuring out the best way to explain things to the trainees, making sure they feel ready for the job.
