Shri Agarwal General Store

Our location is 84B in Rasulabad and it is a pretty straightforward place. We have been running this general store for quite some time and it has become a staple for the people living in this part of town. Rasulabad has its own pace of life and we fit right into it. The shop is a simple room filled with shelves from floor to ceiling. We stock everything from cooking oil to school supplies for the local kids. It’s not the kind of place that has air conditioning or fancy tiled floors. It’s just a practical shop where you get what you need and move on. Sometimes we have to deal with power cuts which can be frustrating but that’s just how things are here. We have a small battery backup for a single light so we can see what we are doing at night. The counter is made of old wood and it has been rubbed smooth over the years by people leaning on it. We spend a lot of our time chatting with neighbors who drop in for a small purchase. It’s a community feeling more than anything else. We don't have a big team of workers just a couple of us who take turns managing the stock and the cash. It’s a lot of manual work lifting bags of rice and flour but it keeps us busy and connected to everyone.
