You can find our shop at 447N in the Lal Bangla area, right near Ramadevi Chauraha. It’s a very busy part of Harjinder Nagar. There is always a lot of noise from the traffic at the crossroads. My grandfather started this business a long time ago, and we have kept it going as a family ever since. We sell all sorts of things that people might need for their homes or small building projects. The shop is a bit cramped because we try to fit as much stock as possible on the shelves. Sometimes things get a little disorganized, but we usually know where everything is kept. Customers come in and out all day, mostly locals from around the neighborhood who have been coming for years. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People just know us from being here for so many years. Usually, there are three of us working, sitting on stools behind the main counter near the door. We spend a lot of time talking to the regulars who stop by to see what is new. The tea stall nearby keeps us going in the afternoons when it gets slow. It gets quite hot in the summer months since we don’t have much ventilation, but we just open the doors wide and use a few fans. It’s a simple life running a shop. We deal with whatever comes through the door. It’s not fancy, but it is what we do.
