Lallu Kirana Store

Our shop, Lallu Kirana Store, is located right on Canal Road in the Ghasiyari Mandi area of Kanpur. This part of town is always buzzing with people and carts moving goods back and forth. We are a traditional kirana store, so we deal in all the basic grains, pulses, and spices that every kitchen needs. The shop is usually a bit messy with open sacks and weighing scales taking up most of the space. We don't really bother with fancy packaging; people just tell us how much they want and we scoop it out for them. It’s been this way for a long time. The dust from Canal Road comes in sometimes, but that is just how Kanpur is. We know most of the people who come here, and sometimes we sit and talk for a bit while the goods are being packed. The summers are tough here, and the shop can get quite hot, but we keep the fan going. We are tucked into a corner of the mandi, so it can be a bit hard to spot if you aren't looking for it. We mostly sell to regular families who have been buying from us for generations. There is no big secret to how we work. We just open up, clean the front, and start weighing out the orders as they come in. It is just plain and simple business for us, nothing more and nothing less than that.
