J D Eventz is based right in Kaka Deo, Kanpur. It’s usually pretty loud around here because of all the traffic and the students, especially being so close to Cafe Coffee Day. People stop by there for a drink and then find their way to us. Our office isn’t anything fancy. It’s just where we keep our files and meet folks who want to organize something. Mostly we spend our time on the phone or out at different venues. Kanpur is a big city and getting from one side to the other for a meeting takes forever. We started this because we liked seeing things come together. It's hard work, though. Carrying stuff, making sure the lights work, and dealing with last-minute changes that always happen. There’s always someone calling about a chair or a sound system. We just try to get the job done without too much fuss. Some days are long, starting before the sun is up and ending way after dark. Our team is small, just a few of us who know how things work in this part of town. We don't have a big marketing department or anything. It's just us here in Kaka Deo, trying to keep our schedules straight and making sure everything is where it needs to be when the time comes. We've been here for a while now and know the local suppliers pretty well. That helps when something goes wrong at the last minute.
