Our shop is tucked away at No. 55/14 in Kahoo Kothi, which is right near Birhana Road. It’s a busy area and the noise from the street usually comes right through the front door. We deal mostly with readymade clothes for men and kids. The shelves are usually stacked high with jeans and shirts, sometimes so high they almost tip over if you’re not careful. We’ve been working out of this spot for years and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint if we ever found the time. Usually, it’s just us folding clothes and chatting with the folks who walk in. Birhana Road is always crowded so we get a lot of foot traffic, especially in the evenings when everyone is out. We don’t really do much advertising, people just know we are here. My brother handles the accounts while I look after the customers and the stock levels. Some days are slow and we just sit and watch the traffic go by. Other days it’s so packed we can’t even find a place to sit down. We keep a fan going in the corner because it gets quite stuffy with all the fabric around. It’s a plain business, nothing too fancy, just selling clothes and making a living in Kahoo Kothi. We just try to keep enough sizes in stock so nobody leaves empty-handed. It's a lot of folding and re-folding but we stay busy.
