Chand Kanta Lawn

Chand Kanta Lawn is situated at 16/72 in the Civil Lines area of Kanpur, which is right near the CA Institute. It is basically just a big open space that we keep ready for whenever someone needs a place to hold a gathering. We spend a lot of our time sweeping up leaves and making sure the grass doesn't get too dry in the Kanpur heat. It is a lot of work to keep an outdoor spot looking decent when the wind blows dust everywhere. The gate is usually open during the day so people can walk in and see the size of the ground for themselves. We have a small room on-site where we keep some plastic chairs and basic supplies. It isn't a corporate office by any means. We usually just sit outside on a bench and talk to whoever comes by. Being in Civil Lines is convenient because people can find us, but the noise from the main road can be a bit much sometimes. We have to coordinate with the tent decorators and the light guys whenever there is an actual event happening. Usually, it is a mess of poles and fabric until everything finally gets put together. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who look after the place and make sure the water pumps are working and the lights stay on when they are needed.
