Our place is tucked away in Kakadeo at 117/426 in the A1 Block. If you have ever been to this part of Kanpur, you know it is always packed with students and people rushing around to different coaching centers. We have been here for a bit now, working out of a few rooms that are usually cluttered with old cables and stacks of paperwork that we really should sort through one day. The office isn't anything you would see in a magazine. The walls are a kind of dull cream color and the floor tiles have a few cracks near the entrance. Most of us get here around nine, usually stopping for a quick tea at the corner shop before climbing the stairs. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so the fans are always humming in the background, making it hard to hear sometimes. We spend the day on our computers, dealing with whatever technical stuff comes our way. There is a small balcony where someone usually goes to take a phone call or just get a bit of air away from the screens. We do not have a big fancy sign outside, just a small one that is a little faded from the sun. Lunch is usually a quiet affair with people opening their tiffin boxes and sharing whatever they brought from home. It is just a normal office with a bunch of people trying to get their work done before the evening traffic makes the commute back home a nightmare.
