Orange Coumty, Kabini

We are based over here in Mele Chovva, which is a really busy part of Kannur. It is quite a distance from the actual Kabini forest area, but we handle the business side of things from this office. Most people around here know the name Orange Coumty. Most days it is just a few of us answering the phones and sorting out the paperwork for the trips and stays. The building is right near the main road so it gets a bit noisy with all the traffic passing through this part of Kerala. We have been in this exact spot for a while now. It is a very simple setup. Just a few desks, some old chairs, and some maps pinned on the wall. Sometimes the weather gets incredibly humid here in Kannur. We keep the fans running at full speed all day long. People stop by to ask about room bookings or how they can get to the park areas. We just tell them what we know from our experience. It is definitely not a big fancy corporate headquarters or anything like that. It is just a local office where we try to keep everything organized. Usually, we are quite busy in the mornings when the mail and deliveries arrive. By the evening time, it gets a lot quieter. We have our regulars who drop in just to have a chat. Working in this part of Kerala has its own slow pace. We follow the local holidays and the rain patterns. When the heavy monsoon starts, everything slows down even more. We just sit here and do our daily work as the weeks go by.
