Nanma Driving School

Being in Payangadi means we know everyone around here pretty much. Our school is right in the heart of the area in Kannur. It’s a local operation through and through. We don’t do things in a flashy way. Mostly, it’s about showing up on time and getting into the car for the lessons. The roads in this part of Kannur have their own rhythm. You have to learn how to handle the narrow spots and the big buses that zoom by. We spend a lot of time talking people through the clutch and brake. It’s repetitive work but someone has to do it. We’ve seen the town change a bit over the years, but the way people learn to drive stays mostly the same. They always get worried about the H test. We just tell them to keep practicing and stay calm. The office isn't anything special, just a place to keep the files and meet students before we head out. We stay busy enough. Sometimes the heavy rain makes things difficult, but we keep going regardless. It’s just how it is here. We don’t have a big team of people, just a few of us who know the cars and the rules well. People stop by to ask about classes or to drop off their forms. We try to keep things simple. No need for complicated stuff when you're just trying to learn how to get from one place to another. That’s what we do every day here in Payangadi. It’s a good way to spend the day.
