Jamia Al Maqar

Jamia Al Maqar is located in the Taliparamba area of Kannur. The building is known as Darul Aman and it has been here for a good while. Most days start very early for us. You can see the front gates from the main road as you walk up. Taliparamba can be a busy place with a lot of traffic and people moving around. We have quite a few rooms in the building and the hallways are long. It gets very rainy here during the monsoon months, so we spend time checking the roof for leaks. The 670141 area is actually quite green once you get away from the street. We don't have a lot of fancy furniture, just the basic things we need to get through the day. There is a small office near the entrance where we keep our files and answer the phone. Sometimes the power goes out and we just have to sit and wait for it to come back on. That is just part of living in Kannur. We see the same neighbors every morning and they usually wave to us. It is a simple place and we try to keep it tidy. The students come in through the side path mostly. We have some trees in the back that provide a bit of shade when the sun is out. It feels like a normal part of the community here.
