Al Sherayi Tile

Being located right at Highway Junction in Puthiyatheru makes for a pretty noisy day most of the time. We are Al Sherayi Tile and we’ve stayed in this part of Chirakkal for quite a few years now. The shop is basically a large warehouse where we store tiles of all different sizes and colors. It gets really hot inside during the summer months, so we keep the big doors open to try and catch a breeze from the road. We spend a lot of our time checking over the shipments that come in on the big trucks. Sometimes the crates get bumped around, so we have to sort through them to make sure nothing is broken. It’s not a very glamorous job, but it keeps us on our feet. People usually stop in while they’re driving through the junction, maybe looking for a few extra boxes to finish a bathroom floor. We don’t have a receptionist or anyone fancy to greet you. You just walk in and find whoever isn’t currently carrying a heavy load of stone. The floor is always a bit gritty from the sand and grout. We have a small, cluttered desk in the corner where we keep our receipts and a calculator. Most of the regulars know to just shout hello when they walk in. We take things one customer at a time and don’t worry too much about the rush outside on the highway.
