Zion Architects & Interior Designing

Our office is all the way down in Kanyakumari, in a place called Mathicode in Palapalam. It’s a different pace of life here compared to the big cities. At Zion Architects & Interior Designing, we work out of a modest space that fits right into the local surroundings. The weather is usually warm, so the fans are always on high. We spend our days sketching out ideas or looking at site photos. It’s just a few of us here. We don’t have a big HR department or a PR team. If you call, one of us will just pick up the phone. The office has a lot of natural light, which helps when seeing the details on our plans. We aren't trying to be the most famous designers in the world. We just want to make sure the buildings we work on actually stand up and look alright. Sometimes we have to travel a bit to reach different sites around the district. The roads can be bumpy, but that’s just part of the job. We keep our tools simple—mostly pencils, rulers, and our laptops. There’s no grand philosophy behind what we do. We just look at the space available and try to figure out a way that works to use it. It’s practical work for practical people in a beautiful part of the country. And that is pretty much the long and short of how things go for us here in Palapalam.
