Sr Architectural Designer

Being on K P Road in Nagercoil keeps us right in the middle of things, especially since the Collector Office is just across the street. Sr Architectural Designer is essentially a small room filled with rolls of tracing paper and a few computers that have seen better days. We spend most of our time drawing up plans for houses and small buildings for people in the district. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find glossy brochures. Instead, you’ll see us arguing over where a pillar should go or how to make a kitchen feel bigger. The traffic outside is constant, and you can hear the horns from the main road all day long. Sometimes people coming from the government office drop in just to ask a quick question about their house plans. We try to be helpful without making things complicated. Most of the work involves sitting down with a pencil and sketching out what someone described on a scrap of paper. We’ve been in this spot for a while, and the walls are covered with old blueprints that never got picked up. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons, but we keep the fan running and keep working through the stack of files. It’s a local business, run by people who grew up around here and understand how houses are actually built in this climate. It is a straightforward way of working.
