Our place, Jai Marble Suppliers, is over in Piparda, right on the N.H. 8. It’s on the road heading toward Nathdwara in Rajsamand. Being on the highway means we see a lot of people passing through. Most of our day is spent out in the sun, checking the blocks that come in. It’s a rugged kind of work. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything like that. We just rely on people seeing our yard as they drive by. The ground is always white with marble dust. You can't really escape it. We’ve been here in Rajsamand for a long time, and we know most of the local transporters. When a customer stops, we just walk them through the rows of stone. There’s no pressure. I usually tell them to bring some water to pour on the slabs so they can see the true color. It’s a simple trick but it helps. We don't have a polished sales pitch. We just know our stones. Sometimes the supply is steady and sometimes it's not. That's just how the quarry business goes. We live nearby, so we’re usually around even if the gates are closed. It’s a family-run kind of setup, nothing too big or corporate. Just a yard full of stone and a few people working hard to keep things organized. It is just our way of life out here on the highway.
