We are up in Palampur, working in the Department of Agricultural Economics. It is a beautiful part of Himachal Pradesh, although the winters can get very cold up here. Our office is part of the COA Cskhpkv campus. Most of us spend our time looking at data or talking about the local farming trends in the region. It is a very academic environment, but we try to keep it practical too. We have bookshelves lined with old journals and reports that have been here for years. The air is fresh and clean up here, which is a nice change if you are used to the crowded cities. We do not really do anything for promotion or marketing. We just focus on the research and the teaching work that needs to be done. Cskhpkv has been a fixture in this area for a long time now. Students and researchers are always coming through the doors with new questions or projects. We try to help them out as best as we can. The office furniture is a bit worn out and old, but it is comfortable enough for a long day of work. Sometimes we get a bit distracted by the view of the mountains from the window. It is hard not to look at them. We just go about our business in a quiet and steady way. There is no need for big speeches. We are just here doing the work for the department.
