Tamei Agro Farmers Producer Company Limited

Up here in Lenglong, things move a bit slower than in the city. Our company is run by K Ranglungbou and a few others from the Tamei area. We are a producer company, which means we are owned by the farmers themselves. It’s a long way from the main markets, so we have to stick together to get our crops out. The roads up here in the hills can be pretty rough, especially when the monsoon hits, so logistics is our biggest headache. We grow a lot of local agro products that people in the valleys really like. Most of our work is done by hand because the terrain doesn't allow for big tractors. It’s hard on the back, but it’s the way it’s always been done in Lenglong. We started this company to help our neighbors get a better deal for their hard work. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning. Our office is usually wherever Ranglungbou is standing at the moment. We don't do much advertising because word of mouth works better for us in these parts. If you want to talk to us, you’ll have to come up to Tamei. It’s a beautiful place, even if life is a bit tough sometimes. We are just a group of farmers trying to make sure our village stays productive and our kids have a future here. It’s simple, practical stuff for us and we don't mind the sweat.
