Out here in Makhrelui Village in Senapati, things move at a bit of a different pace. Kholeo Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited is where we spend our days. S. Moses, who is Mario Sule’s son, is the one who keeps things moving at the main address. We are deep in the hills, so the farming is a bit tough compared to the plains. We work with a lot of different families in the village. Most of what we do is just figuring out how to get our produce down to the towns without it spoiling on the way. It is a lot of coordination. We do not have big fancy trucks, just what we can manage to hire or share. The weather up here in Senapati can be unpredictable, so we are always checking the sky before we plan the harvest. Our group is made up of real farmers who have been doing this for generations. We do not use big words or have fancy meetings. We just sit together and figure out the plan for the next month. Sometimes we run out of space in the shed, and things get a bit cramped with all the produce. It is just a normal part of life here. We are not looking to get rich quick, we just want to make sure the work we do in the fields actually pays off. It is hard work, and our hands are always dirty from the earth. But it is what we know.
