Sun Industries Engineers Fabricators

Sun Industries is tucked away in Arul Nagar, right near Annai Ajnugam Nagar in Urappakkam. If you come by No. 100, you'll hear the sound of metal hitting metal before you even see the sign. We do a lot of fabrication and engineering work here. Mostly it’s welding frames or cutting steel to size for whatever project a customer brings in. The workshop is usually hot and smells like burnt metal, but that’s just how it is when you’re working with heavy stuff. We’ve got some big machines for bending and cutting, and they take up most of the floor space. It’s not a quiet place. We deal with a lot of local contractors and people building houses around Urappakkam. Sometimes the drawings they bring us are just sketches on a piece of paper, and we have to figure out how to make it solid. My clothes usually have a few small burn holes from the sparks. We aren't a giant factory, just a group of guys who know how to handle a torch and a grinder. It’s hard work and your back usually hurts by the end of the shift. But seeing a finished gate or a steel structure leave the shop on a truck feels good. We stay busy with the orders coming in, trying to get things done without rushing the quality. It’s just us at the end of the road, doing what we know how to do best.
