Our little shop is over in Pammal, on Rettai Pillaiyar Kovil Street. As the name suggests, we are very close to the Rettai Pillaiyar Temple. You can usually see the temple from our front door at No.4B. Because of the temple, we get a lot of people coming by on festival days or even just for their daily prayers. It makes the street very lively and colorful. We keep a variety of items that the locals in Pammal need for their homes. It’s mostly groceries and the kind of stuff you’d find in any neighborhood store. We aren't a big chain, just a local business run by people who live nearby. The shop is small and simple. We don't have air conditioning, so it can get a bit stuffy in the Chennai summer, but we keep the fans going. Sometimes we have to move boxes around just to let a customer get to the back. It’s part of the charm, I suppose. We know the families around here and they know us. We try to be helpful and keep the prices fair. It’s a lot of work and long hours, but we like being a part of the daily life on this street. If you're heading to the temple, you’ll probably pass right by us. We just keep things moving as best as we can every day.
