Alchemy Leather Pigments & Auxiliaries P. Ltd.

Our office and workspace are at 18, Pammal, on George Fernandes Street in Voc Nagar. The name Alchemy Leather Pigments & Auxiliaries P. Ltd. sounds a bit technical, and I guess the work is, too. We deal with the pigments and extra stuff that goes into making leather look right. Pammal is a busy enough area, and George Fernandes Street has its own rhythm. Our building is pretty ordinary. Inside, we have rows of containers filled with different colors and additives. It’s not a place where everything is perfectly clean; pigments tend to get on everything no matter how careful you are. You’ll see splashes of color on the floor and the workbenches. We spend our time mixing things and checking samples against what the customers want. It’s a lot of back-and-forth and testing. The office part is just a couple of desks shoved into a corner where we can handle the phone calls and the mail. It’s a practical setup for the kind of work we do. We don't have a big staff, just a few people who have been doing this long enough to know the difference between all the various chemicals we use. We usually have a radio playing in the background to keep things lively while we work through the orders. It gets a bit dusty in the summer, but we manage to keep things organized.
