We work as tea brokers here in Guwahati, specifically tucked away on Suraj Nagar Path. It is right near the 6th Mile and Khana Para area, which is pretty much the hub for this kind of stuff. Being Tea Brokers(Guwahati) Pvt. Ltd. means we spend most of our time looking at samples. The office on G S Road is always smelling like different grades of tea, which I guess is a good thing. We have rows of little white bowls and spoons for tasting. It’s a busy spot because the auction center isn't too far off. A lot of our day is just paperwork and talking to people from the gardens. We aren't a huge operation, just a dedicated group of people who know how to spot a decent batch of leaves. The traffic outside on the main road is always a mess, but inside it’s mostly just the sound of slurping tea and clicking on keyboards. We handle the logistics and the middle-man work that keeps the tea moving from the estates to the buyers. It isn't always easy, especially when the market prices are jumping around. We just try to stay honest and keep our records straight. The building we are in is easy to find if you know the path. We don't have a big sign or anything, just our work and our reputation in the local tea circles.
