Lairenjam Sabal Upper Primary School

Lairenjam Sabal Upper Primary School is situated out in the Borjhar area near the Guwahati Airport. Since we are so close to the airport you can often hear the planes taking off while we are in the middle of a class. It is something the students and teachers have just gotten used to over time. We are an upper primary school which means we have kids who are a bit older and starting to get more serious about their education. The surroundings here are a bit different from the city center because it feels a little more open out by Borjhar. We have a simple building with basic classrooms and not much else. We do not have a big budget for fancy decorations so we just keep things clean and functional. The school serves the local community around the airport area and most of the children walk here every morning. We do not have any big mission statements or goals other than helping the kids get through their primary years so they can move on to high school. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. Sometimes we have to deal with the dust from the road or the heat in the summer but we just keep the fans running and get on with the lessons. It is a humble place but it is where we work every day.
