Gangotri Bags

Our shop is at 1, Bhagadutta Path in Geetanagar. It’s the first building on the path, so you can’t really miss it if you’re looking. Gangotri Bags is where we spend most of our time. It’s a noisy place because we have several sewing machines running at once. It’s not the kind of place where you can have a quiet conversation easily. We make bags of all sorts. There are stacks of canvas and nylon everywhere you look. Sometimes we run out of space and have to pile things up near the door. We don’t have a fancy showroom. If someone wants to see what we have, they just come into the work area and we show them what’s on the racks. The floor is covered in thread clippings and small pieces of fabric. We sweep it out every evening, but it’s a losing battle. We’ve been here at Bhagadutta Path for a good number of years now. The building is old, and the roof leaks a tiny bit when it rains really hard, so we have to move the stock around to keep it dry. It’s just part of the routine. We don't have a marketing person telling us what to say. We just make bags and sell them to people who need them. It’s a simple business, and we like it that way. No corporate nonsense, just hard work and plenty of thread at 1 Bhagadutta Path.
