If you’re ever traveling along the Kalyan Murbad Road, you’ll find us in the village of Raita. Our address is House No. 59, right near the Hanuman Mandir. That’s the home base for Deveshree Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited. We’re in a bit of an interesting spot because we’re close to the busier roads but our lives are still very much about the dirt and the seasons. The company was started by a bunch of us who wanted to make sure that the farming in this area didn't just disappear as the towns grow bigger. We grow a variety of stuff and having the company helps us manage the sales side of things without getting overwhelmed. It’s a lot of coordination between different neighbors to see who is planting what and when it’s going to be ready. We aren't polished business people, we just know our crops and our land. Most of our meetings involve a lot of tea and talking about the rain or the latest government rules that might affect us. It can be a bit chaotic at times, especially when the harvest comes in all at once, but we manage to get through it. We’re just trying to keep our heads down and keep the work going so we can support ourselves and our village folks. We don't need anything fancy to get the job done right.
