Prabudha Fabrication

Prabudha Fabrication is right at Plot No-3, tucked just behind the Central Bus Stand in Kalaburagi. If you’re familiar with the C.I.B Colony, we’re just a stone’s throw from there. It’s a loud spot with all the buses idling and people shouting, but that's just life near the station. We’ve got a decent-sized yard where we keep our metal stock. It’s mostly iron and steel. We do a lot of cutting and welding. You can usually hear the sound of the grinders from the street. It’s a dusty job and our clothes are always stained with soot or rust, but we don't mind. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a clean suit. We just want the gates and frames we build to hold up. People from the colony often drop by with small repair jobs, maybe a broken hinge or a bent pipe. We fit those in between the bigger projects. My cousin helps me out most days, and we have a couple of boys from the neighborhood who are learning the trade. The heat in Kalaburagi can be brutal during the summer months, especially when you’re standing over a welding machine, but we keep the fans going. We don't have a website or anything like that. If you need something fabricated, you just come to Plot 3 and we talk about it over some tea. It’s a simple way of doing things, but it has worked for us for years. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
