My name is Muralidhar Rao, and I’ve been managing things for Jindal South West Steel Limited from this location for quite some time. Being so close to the cement factories means there is always a layer of dust on the windows, no matter how much you clean them. That’s just part of life here in this corner of Karnataka. The landscape is mostly dry and rocky, which matches the tough nature of the steel business. We don’t have a lot of visitors coming in for tours. It’s mostly just drivers and local contractors who need to talk about their orders. The office is simple. I’ve got a couple of chairs, a sturdy desk, and a lot of folders. We don’t go in for fancy decorations or marketing posters. The work speaks for itself, and we stay busy enough without needing to shout about it. The days are long, especially when there are delays on the road or at the plant. We just sit tight, drink some coffee, and wait for the trucks to arrive. It’s a straightforward way of living. We know the neighbors and the local shops, and we just try to be a reliable part of the local economy. It’s not complicated, but it takes a lot of patience to keep everything running right.
