Civil Site Engineer

You can find me over in the Mominpura area of Gulbarga, specifically near Khari Bowli at house number 6-94. This has been my home and my little office for quite some time now. Working as a civil site engineer in Karnataka means you have to be ready for all kinds of weather and all kinds of site conditions. I mostly deal with the day-to-day operations on building sites, making sure the workers know what they are doing and that the materials arriving are what we actually ordered. I don't really do the fancy design stuff; I'm the guy who makes sure the design actually stands up on the ground. Sometimes it's a bit of a struggle getting everything to line up, especially when the supplies are late or the weather turns bad, but we manage. People in the neighborhood know me as the engineer who is always carrying a tape measure or some rolled-up blueprints. I’ve seen this part of Gulbarga change a lot over the years with more houses and shops going up. It’s good to be a part of that, even in a small way. My work is straightforward and I try to keep it that way. No big corporate talk here, just focus on the bricks and mortar. If I’m not at home, I’m probably at a site nearby, probably arguing with a contractor or checking the depth of a foundation. It’s what I do for a living and I'm okay with the dust.
