Sri Rama Krishna Rice Mill

We’ve been running Sri Rama Krishna Rice Mill here in Ryali Village for quite a while now. Most people around Atreyapuram know where we are, just down at 4-3-278. It isn't a fancy place, just a regular mill where we spend our days dealing with piles of paddy and the loud hum of the machinery. When the harvest season hits, things get really busy and there is dust everywhere, but that is just how it goes in this line of work. We spend a lot of time checking the grains and making sure the hulling is done right so the rice comes out clean. Sometimes the power goes out or a belt breaks, and we have to stop everything to fix it, which can be frustrating. My family has been around this area for generations, so we know most of the farmers who bring their crops to us. We talk about the weather and the prices while the machines do their thing in the background. It is hard work and your hands get rough from handling the heavy sacks all day long. We don't have a big office or anything, just the milling floor and a small space to sit. The smell of fresh rice is something you get used to after a few years. We just try to keep things moving and get the work done before it gets too dark outside.
