Devi Fisheries Ltd.

We are over here in Sarpavaram, at 3-375. It is just Devi Fisheries Ltd. and we have been in this spot for quite some time now. Most mornings start early because that is just how the fish business works. There is always a lot of water on the floor and people moving crates back and forth. It’s not a quiet place, especially when the sun starts coming up. The building itself is nothing special to look at, just a regular place where we get things done. Sometimes the smell of the sea is really strong, depending on which way the wind is blowing through Sarpavaram. We see the same faces coming around mostly. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting and sorting, but it keeps everyone busy. If you walk past 3-375, you will likely see trucks parked out front waiting to load up. We don't spend much time in an office because there is too much to do outside with the catch. It can get pretty hot in the afternoons, so we try to get the heavy lifting finished before then. It’s just a normal day-to-day operation for us here at Devi Fisheries Ltd. No one wears fancy clothes, just boots and gear that can get wet. We have been part of this neighborhood for a while, and it feels like home to most of us who work here. That is just how things are at our place in Sarpavaram.
