Balaji Marble

Balaji Marble is situated on Patiala Road, very close to the Cheeka Solvent plant. It’s a pretty busy stretch of road with a lot of heavy vehicles going back and forth. We have a good-sized yard here where we keep all our marble slabs. Most of our work involves unloading new stock and helping customers pick out pieces for their construction. It’s a dusty job and we are usually covered in stone powder by the end of the day. We have been at this location for a long time. People around here know the spot. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know how to handle the stone without breaking it. Dealing with marble requires a bit of patience because every slab is unique. We show people the natural cracks and the colors. We don’t try to make it sound like something it isn't. It’s just natural stone from the earth. Sometimes the yard gets crowded when a big delivery comes in. We spend our lunch breaks sitting under the small tin roof of the office. It’s a basic business. We don’t have a fancy showroom with lights. We just have the sun and the stone. If someone needs marble for a house on Patiala Road, they usually end up stopping here to see what we’ve got. We just keep working and try to be fair with everyone.
