Shyam Marble

We've been here on Veraval Road for a while now. You can find our yard right near Sagar Chamber in the Junagadh district. Dealing with marble isn't exactly easy or clean work. It is very heavy and dusty, but it is what we do every day. My father started things out many years ago, and now we just keep it going as best as we can. The yard gets pretty hot in the afternoons, especially when the sun hits the white stone surfaces and reflects back at you. We mostly spend our time unloading trucks that come in from the quarries and showing people what we have in stock. There is always a lot of dust floating around, and our hands are usually rough and dry from handling the slabs all day long. People come in looking for something specific for their floors or maybe for kitchen counters. Sometimes they know exactly what they want, and other times they just walk around for an hour looking at every piece. We try to keep things organized, but with so much stone coming and going, the yard stays pretty messy. It is just a regular local business. We don't have a fancy showroom with air conditioning or anything like that. Just the stone and the old tools we use to move it. Most days are about checking the inventory and making sure the pieces aren't cracked or damaged during transport. We see a lot of local builders and families trying to finish their homes. It is just how life is here in this part of Junagadh.
