Balkrishna Marble

Our business, Balkrishna Marble, is located in Ambada Village. We are quite close to the Una Byepass, which makes it easy for the big lorries to reach us without getting stuck in the middle of town. We fall under the Una Taluka and get our mail at the Dhokadva Post Office. Being near the bypass means we see a lot of traffic heading out towards the coast or the main highway. The yard is usually full of blocks and slabs waiting to be sold. It is a bit of a dusty spot, but that is the nature of dealing with marble. We don't have any fancy signs or a big office. Most of the time, we are just sitting on a wooden bench outside, waiting for the next customer or the next delivery. The sun in this part of the country is strong, so the stone gets hot to the touch by mid-afternoon. We’ve been here in Ambada for a good while now. Local builders know us, and we know them. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that. We just sell stone and try to make a living. Sometimes we help with the loading ourselves if the workers are busy. It’s a simple, honest way to spend the day. If you’re driving past the bypass, you can see our stacks from the road.
