Hammad Frozen Foods

Running a frozen food business in the Gidc Estate in Vaishali Sector 4 is mostly about timing and making sure things stay cold. We are out here in Delhi Ncr, and if you know the traffic, you know it can be a real headache. Our day at Hammad Frozen Foods usually starts way before the sun comes up. That is when the trucks come in. The warehouse is always cold, obviously, so we spend a lot of our time in heavy jackets even when it is sweltering outside. It’s a bit of a weird feeling walking out of the freezer into the Delhi heat. The Gidc area is always buzzing with activity. There are other businesses all around us doing different things. Our space is pretty basic. We have the storage area, a small office for the paperwork, and a place for the drivers to sit for a minute. We don't have any fancy mission statements on the walls. We just focus on checking the temperatures and moving the stock out. It’s physical work and it can be tiring. Sometimes a machine breaks down or a delivery is late because of a jam on the highway, and we just have to deal with it. We aren't a big corporate chain, just a local outfit trying to do things right. It’s a lot of logistics and hoping the power doesn't go out. We just keep going and hope for the best with each shipment.
