Tata Bricks

Tata Bricks is located in Kalia Pani, which is just a little ways from Hanchara Chowk in Jorhat. We are in Ward No. 4, and most people around here know exactly where that is. It is a local yard where the work never really stops. We spend our days dealing with the raw earth and the fires in the kilns. It is not an easy job, and it certainly isn't a clean one. You will find us covered in dirt most of the time. We don't have any big speeches or corporate goals. We just focus on making enough bricks to keep the local builders happy. The area around Kalia Pani provides us with what we need, and we have a small crew that has been here for years. They know the timing of the kilns by heart. Sometimes the rain in Jorhat district can slow us down, and we have to wait for the ground to dry out before we can get back to full speed. When it is busy, the yard is full of activity and noise from the trucks coming through the chowk. We don't have a showroom or anything like that. If you want to see our bricks, you just come down to the field and look at them yourself. It is honest, hard labor, and we are just trying to do a decent day's work for the people in our town.
