About Boruah Brick Industry – Building & Construction Material in Jorhat
Boruah Brick Industry is right on MG Road in Bongal Pukhuri. It's a busy enough spot. We’ve been working this land for a long time. Making bricks is what we know. We start early when it’s still cool outside. The kiln takes up a lot of space and it’s always hot near the center. We use the local soil from around this part of Bongal Pukhuri. It’s got a specific color to it. You’ll see the stacks of bricks from the road if you’re passing by. We don't spend money on fancy offices. Most of our time is spent out in the yard or checking the piles. The workers are mostly local people. We know the neighbors and they know us. The trucks come and go all day on MG Road, which can get a bit crowded. We just keep making the bricks and waiting for them to bake. It’s a dirty job, your clothes never really get clean. But it’s what we do. We’ve seen the town grow and we’ve supplied a lot of the material for the new buildings around here. We don't promise anything except that we'll be here working. If the weather is good, we produce a lot. If it rains, we take a break and cover the raw bricks with plastic. That’s just how the brick industry works for us here. The traffic on MG Road can be a real headache when we are trying to get the big lorries out of the gate. We have to coordinate and sometimes someone has to go out and stop the cars. It’s a bit of a mess but we get through it.
