Zari

Zari is based at 112/3 Firsh A Road in Sardarpura. It is a fairly simple place where we focus on embroidery and fabric work. Sardarpura is a busy area, but our street is a little more tucked away, which helps us focus on the fine details of our work. We spend hours sitting at the large wooden tables, working on different designs. It is not the kind of work you can do quickly if you want it to look right. We do not have a big corporate structure or a bunch of managers. It is just a few of us who have been doing this for a long time. The shop itself is pretty basic. We have shelves full of thread and rolls of cloth piled up in the corners. Sometimes it feels like we are drowning in fabric, but we know where everything is. We do not spend any time on promotional stuff or trying to sound more professional than we are. We are just craftspeople who happen to have a shop. People come to us when they have a specific idea in mind, and we do our best to make it happen. We have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit, but 112/3 has remained our home. We just show up, do the work, and hope people like what we make. That is the long and short of it for us as a team.
