Suresh Cold Drinks

Being out here in Bilara on National Highway 51 means we see a lot of people passing through Jodhpur. Our shop is right near Laxmi Cinema, which is a good landmark for anyone trying to find us. It gets pretty lively when a big movie is playing. People stop in for something cold to drink before they go in or right after they come out. The highway is always busy with trucks and buses going back and forth all day and night. We’ve been at this spot for a good bit of time. It’s mostly just us keeping the coolers full and making sure the crates are stacked right. Sometimes the dust from the road gets to be a bit much, but you get used to it. In the summer, the heat in this part of Rajasthan is no joke, so the cold drinks sell fast. We have locals from the village who come by just to sit for a minute and chat while they have a soda. It’s a simple setup we’ve got here in Bilara. We don’t have any fancy seating or anything, just the counter and the fridge. It's a family-run kind of thing, and we just take it one day at a time. The cinema crowd keeps us on our toes during the weekends especially. It feels good to be a part of the daily life on this stretch of the highway.
