Shri Shyam Bricks And Blocks

We are situated right on Nh- 65 near the Post Mandore area. Shri Shyam Bricks And Blocks is where we spend our lives, surrounded by rows of grey blocks and red bricks. Being on the highway means we get a lot of noise from the passing trucks, but it makes it easy for our own deliveries to get out. We make both traditional bricks and the newer cement blocks that people are using more of these days. The mixing machine is old but it still works well if you know how to talk to it. My sons help me with the daily operations, from checking the water levels to talking with the contractors. We don't have any big missions or slogans. We just want to make sure the blocks are solid and the bricks don't crumble when they are used. The sun hits the yard pretty hard in the afternoon, so we take our lunch under the big neem tree near the fence. It is a simple routine that hasn't changed much over the years. We see the same faces from the Mandore area coming back whenever they need to fix a wall or build an extension. It’s not a fast-paced life, but it keeps us fed and the community building. That is all we really need at the end of the day.
