Rakesh Goods Transport Co is located right in the heart of the action at Basni Transport Nagar, Phase-2 22. Being in a transport nagar means we are surrounded by other shops, mechanics, and drivers all day long. It’s a loud place, full of the smell of diesel and the constant sound of horns, but it’s where we belong. Our office is small, just one of the many units in Phase-2. I’ve been working here since I was a lot younger, and not much has changed about how we do things. We still use paper records mostly, and I have a big chalkboard where I track the main trips for the week. Sometimes it gets confusing when three different drivers call at once with issues, but we manage to keep it straight eventually. The walls are a bit stained from years of smoke and dust, and the chairs are definitely old, but it’s a functional space for us. We don't spend money on fancy furniture or branding. We’d rather spend that on keeping the trucks in decent shape so they don't break down. The traffic around Basni can be a nightmare in the evenings, so we try to get most of our departures done early in the morning. It’s a tough business with a lot of competition right next door, but we’ve built some good relationships over the years. We just keep our heads down and do the work day after day, year after year. We are just regular people.
