Rajshree Juice

If you are walking along the Main Road near the Police Line in Ratanada, you will see Rajshree Juice. We are situated right near Madhu Hospital, which means we get all sorts of people stopping by. Some are just passing through and others are visiting folks at the hospital. We do not have a big shop with lots of tables. It is mostly a counter and several crates of fresh fruit. We start early in the morning, washing the oranges and peeling the pomegranates. My brother and I run the place with one helper who has been with us for years. We do not have a printed menu or any fancy advertising. People just look at the fruit we have and tell us what they want. Sometimes we run out of a certain fruit by midday if it is a busy Tuesday. We use basic juicers and we wash them constantly throughout the shift. It is a bit loud with the machines running and the traffic noise from the road outside. We have a couple of stools for people to wait on, but most customers just stand and drink their juice quickly before moving on. The evenings are usually our busiest time when people are heading home from work. We do not do anything complicated. We just squeeze the fruit and hand over the glass. It is a decent way to make a living and we know many of the neighbors by name now.
