Priya Electronics

Our shop is at 23-A in the Chandshah Market area, right by Sojati Gate. If you’ve ever been to this part of Jodhpur, you know how crowded it gets with all the shoppers, bikes, and rickshaws. We’ve been here in this market for quite a while now. We sell all sorts of small electronics and spare parts. The shop is pretty small and we have shelves stacked all the way to the ceiling with boxes of various sizes. Sometimes it’s hard to find exactly what a customer is looking for right away, but we usually know where everything is hidden behind the other stuff. It gets very hot in the afternoons, so we have a couple of big old fans running all day. People come in looking for everything from remote controls to wires and light bulbs. We also do some minor repairs if someone brings in a broken radio or a fan that stopped working for some reason. It’s a noisy place with everyone shouting and the traffic from Sojati Gate just outside the door. I usually sit on a small stool near the counter and talk to the other shopkeepers when things are slow in the midday heat. We don't have any big signs or bright lights, just the stock we carry in the cupboards. Most of our customers are locals who have been coming to this market for years. We try to keep the prices fair so they keep coming back to us. It’s a lot of work keeping track of the inventory, especially with so many tiny items, but we manage somehow.
