Janki Udyog

You can find us at 270 Ram Nagar, just off Jhanwar Road in the Chb area. It’s a busy part of town with a lot going on. Janki Udyog is a small operation. We do a lot of manual work here. Most of our day is spent handling orders and making sure the machines are running like they should. They’re old machines, but they still work fine if you treat them right. The dust from the road gets in sometimes, so we’re always sweeping up. It’s mostly just me and two other guys. We’ve known each other for years, so we don't need to say much to get the job done. People drop by without calling first, which is how things work around here. We handle a bit of everything that comes our way in terms of production. It’s not a clean job, our clothes are usually stained by noon. We don't have a lunchroom, we just sit outside when the sun isn't too hot. The neighbors know us as the place that’s always making noise until five o’clock. We aren't trying to become a giant corporation. We just want to keep the quality decent enough that people keep coming back to Ram Nagar to see us. It’s honest work and it pays the bills for us and our families. We like the routine of it.
