Guavaz Ice Cream

Our shop, Guavaz Ice Cream, is located at 1/270 on 4th B Road in Sardarpura. We are quite close to Pratap Nagar, so we get people from both areas coming in. It’s a busy part of town and there’s always something going on outside our door. I started this because I wanted a job where I could be my own boss, even if it means working long hours every day of the week. The shop isn't very large, but we’ve managed to fit in enough freezers to hold all the different tubs. We don’t have a big staff, just me and a couple of helpers who live nearby. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time parking on 4th B Road because it’s narrow, so we have to carry the heavy crates ourselves. It’s hard work, but it keeps us moving. People usually come in after work or when they are out shopping in Sardarpura. We keep the floor swept and the lights bright so it looks decent. I usually spend my time checking the inventory and making sure the temperature settings are right. If it gets too cold, the ice cream is like a rock, and if it’s too soft, people complain. It’s a bit of a balancing act. We don’t do much advertising, mostly just people walking by and seeing the sign. It’s a straightforward business and we like it that way. Most nights we stay open late until the last customer leaves.
